Farnham Estate Golf Club was previously operating out of temporary cabins and required a new golf clubhouse to bring the facility in line with the high standards of the resort. The clubhouse is available for use by hotel guests and the public, with a function facility also providing the option of catering for special events.
The building is conceived as two separate elements; the first containing the restaurant, bar & function space, along with the pro-shop. The second containing the changing facilities. The clubhouse is accessed between these two elements, into a generous entrance hall flooded with natural light from a large roof light above.
The two elements are given a distinct appearance, with one clad in local stone and the other finished in a coloured render. A cantilevered canopy invites users towards the entrance and also provides external shelter.
The interior function space has been fitted out using soft furniture and fabrics providing a comfortable environment for dining and events. A fully retractable glazed screen allows uninterrupted access to the external terrace over-looking the 18th Green.
