Project Description:

This house sits in a natural hollow in the landscape adjacent to an inlet on the Island of Inishnee, Co. Galway. The brief was to extend the existing vernacular cottage, sympathetic to the existing rural form, creating a weekend family retreat. The original cottage was retained to provide the day to day living accommodation, with the bedrooms set in the extension. These elements are connected by a double height entrance area and all rooms contain large windows to avail of the bay views.
