The development comprises of the refurbishment of the existing historic building at 89-95 Westminster Bridge Road, along with the construction of a twelve-storey tower to the rear containing the hotel bedrooms.
The existing building is renovated to provide hotel, restaurant and bar use at ground floor level, with the existing apartments over upgraded.
The hotel element is primarily contained within the proposed 12 storey tower to the rear with support areas in the basement and at ground floor level. A total of 80 bedrooms are provided.
This tower is set back from the historic building to the front, with a courtyard space created between the two. This courtyard is landscaped and contains a glass roof, providing natural light and ventilation to the restaurant and bar below while also providing an opportunity for guests to view the tower façade and the rear of the historic building.
The vertical core provides access to each level containing bedrooms arranged around a central corridor with glass screens at both ends providing natural daylight. The rear section of the tower containing the core rises above the front section providing access to a roof deck facing onto Westminster Bridge Road. This deck is for use by hotel guests who can relax and enjoy panoramic views over the London skyline.
