Project Details:

Client: Ashcroft Developments

Status: Completed 2024

Value: Private

Project Description:

Located in the centre of Roundwood village, Co. Wicklow, Djouce Meadows is a low-density residential development designed to provide high-quality housing within an established rural settlement. The site benefits from immediate access to local shops, cafés, schools and community amenities, while also enjoying close proximity to the surrounding Wicklow landscape.

The project comprises 20 detached and semi-detached houses arranged around a central shared green, which forms the focal point of the development and provides passive recreational space for residents. The mix includes two-, three- and four-bedroom houses, allowing for a range of household types and stages of family life. House sizes range from approximately 87 sq m to 168 sq m.

The layout has been designed to integrate with the existing village grain, with careful consideration given to building scale, spacing and orientation. Private rear gardens are provided to all houses, accessed directly from the main living areas. Driveways are finished in cobble-lock paving and are pre-wired for the installation of electric vehicle charging points.

Internally, the houses are arranged with practical, well-proportioned layouts. Kitchens are supplied and fitted, with island units included in the three- and four-bedroom houses. Bathrooms are fully tiled and finished to a consistent specification, and all bedrooms include fitted wardrobes. Interiors are delivered in a neutral finish, providing flexibility for future occupants.

Sustainability forms a key part of the project brief. All homes are A-rated for energy efficiency and incorporate air-to-water heat pump systems and high levels of insulation, supporting long-term performance and reduced energy demand.
