Our Profile
When the practices of John Cantrell, formerly Cantrell Joyce, and David Crowley Architects merged in 1996, a new dynamic partnership was established on the architectural scene in Ireland.
Since then the practice has grown to produce award winning projects derived from our policy to produce carefully considered buildings of a consistently high standard. Particular emphasis is placed on good design, both conceptually and in attention to detail, where the articulation of the spaces and the careful connection of the construction elements provide inherent interest and a richness of form in the finished building. We believe that good design contributes to the built environment, and to the enjoyment of buildings by the people who use them.
Our expertise covers a broad spectrum with projects undertaken in the Commercial and Hotel & Leisure sectors as well as a number of multiple residential schemes and one-off houses. Interiors form a large proportion of our work, with an emphasis towards a clean contemporary style, but we are equally comfortable with traditional.
Our striking new headquarters, designed in-house, is located in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. The building was opened in 2001 and features a curved stone and glass façade which encloses an open plan studio flooded with light, in which our teams work, together with a mezzanine containing directors offices and meeting rooms.
