Our People

At Cantrell & Crowley we strive to attract the most creative and best-qualified people to join our office. Since our establishment in 1996 we have assembled core teams who possess unrivalled experience in all aspects of design and construction technology.

These teams of architects, interior designers, architectural technicians and project managers are headed up by our three directors, Brian O'Neill, Shane Crowley and Raymond Grady, in addition to our interiors department led by interior designer Julie Goggin.

Cantrell Crowley Staff

David Crowley, B Arch FRIAI RIBA MIDI, Senior Director

Born in 1947, David Crowley was educated at Gonzaga College S J, University College Dublin and Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, graduating in 1970 with an Honours B. Arch degree, having won the R.I.A.I. Traveling Scholarship in 1969. He was an associate with Dublin based practice Tyndall Hogan Hurley for five years prior to founding David Crowley Architects in 1976. He is a fellow of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland and is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Institute of Designers in Ireland - and is a past treasurer of the latter.

John Cantrell, B Arch MRIAI, Senior Director

Born in 1954, John Cantrell was educated at Blackrock College and graduated from University College Dublin in 1977. He was the founding partner of the firm Cantrell Joyce Architects. He is a keen sportsman and played international Rugby for Ireland from 1975 to 1982. He is a member of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland.

Raymond Grady, Dip Arch Dip Proj Mang Dip Arch Tech ARIAI, Director.

Born in 1967, Raymond Grady was educated at C.B.S. Westport, Institute of Technology, Dublin, Trinity College, Dublin and Oxford Brookes University, Oxford. Having worked in the UK with Chapman Taylor Architects and HLM Architects and in the USA with Aileen Barth and Associates, Raymond returned to work in Dublin in 1995 with Cantrell Joyce and then with Cantrell and Crowley in 1996. Raymond was made an Associate in 1999 and a Director in 2005.

Brian O' Neill, Dip Arch Tech Dip Proj Man RIAI Tech, Director.

Born in 1967, Brian graduated from The Dublin Institute of Technology in 1988 and went on to study at, Trinity College Dublin and Oxford Brookes University, Oxford. After graduating Brian joined Cantrell Joyce architects and latterly Cantrell Crowley in 1996. Brian was made an Associate in 1999 and a Director in 2005.

Shane Crowley, B Arch MRIAI, Director

Following schooling at Blackrock College, Shane graduated from UCD School of Architecture in 1998. After gaining several years experience working for the renowned 315 Architects in Melbourne, Australia, Shane returned to Ireland in 2003 to join Cantrell & Crowley and was made a director in 2007. Shane is also a member of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland.

Julie Goggin, Head of Interior Design

Julie studied Environmental Design at The Dublin Institute of Technology graduating in 1996 with honours and a specialisation in Interior Design. She has been with Cantrell & Crowley for 11 years and is a member of the Institute of Designers of Ireland.
